This can be tailored to suit customer requirements as trailer set ups are different by design.
Chassis and Running Gear
- Remove road wheels, inspect tyres and rims for wear / damage. Check and adjust pressure if required. This includes spare, if applicable
- Inspect wheel studs for damage
- Remove hubs, inspect bearings and bearing seals
- Inspect brake shoes for wear and contamination
- Inspect drums for wear / damage
- Inspect auto reverse function
- Inspect all cables, linkages, pins for wear, damage or missing
- Adjust all brake and operating assemblies to correct tolerances
- Inspect axle, fasteners and suspension components for wear / damage.
- Check handbrake function
- Inspect coupling and fixing bolts. (inspect tow vehicle towball, if available). Inspect safety / breakaway cable and fixings.
- Inspect draw bar and bellows. Lubricate if required.
- Inspect overrun unit
- Inspect jockey wheel and lubricate
- Check all towing electrics for operation. Check all lights
Electrical Systems 240v
- Check condition of inlet plug and hook up cable (when available)
- Operation of RCD, MCB’s and testing of protective equipotential bonding (earth)
- Check condition of wiring, sockets and fixed connections
- Check operation of battery charger
- Check mains operation of fridge
- Check mains operation of cooker and hob
- Check mains operation of water heater
- Check mains operation of space heater
Electrical Systems 12v
- Check condition of battery, charging & housing
- Check condition of wiring, sockets and fuses
- Check operation of all 12v lights including external / signage lighting
Fire and safety
- Check condition of security, smoke alarm
- Check condition of carbon monoxide alarm
- Check condition, type and expiry date of fire extinguisher
- Check condition and location of fire blanket
